Academic Tutoring

For subject tutoring or academic support, all students at Buckley Tutors! work one-on-one with a tutor on the subject in which they need help.

In all cases of academic subject tutoring, the tutor helps the student determine their goals for the subject and helps them devise a plan for how the tutoring sessions will assist them in reaching those goals.  The tutor helps explain any and all material the student does not understand, and provides outside resources to help supplement the student’s learning and progression with the subject.

Academic Subject Tutoring

We offer the following academic subject tutoring:

• Science: Physics, Biology, Chemistry and other science disciplines
• Math: All levels of Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Statistics and Probability, and other levels of math support
• Humanities Subjects: Critical Reading and Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Writing, History, Geography, Government and Politics.
• Languages: Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

Academic Support

Academic support is offered to students on a one-on-one basis. A tutor works with a student to help the student devise and implement a plan for getting organized.  The tutor also teaches the student organization and study skills.

During the session the tutor and the student practice these skills and the tutor gives the students assignments to perform outside of the sessions.  Each session begins with a backpack assessment, a planner check, and a binder check to ensure the student is staying organized and applying their newly found skills.
